Careless damage: why "I hate bees" hurts

Posted on Jun 5th, 2009 by Caryn : Author, Coach, Karma Artist Caryn
During the June 3, 2009 evening news on Fox 31 in Denver, CO, Libby Weaver introduced the story: Louisville Considers Allowing Residents to Raise Chickens, Keep Bees. As she turned the story over to field reporter, Audra Ensign, she added “I hate bees.”

Ms. Ensign finished her segment by adding, “I hate bees too.”

What is wrong with the declaration of
"I hate bees"?

Lucky, the cat who fell 26 stories: miracle or devilish?

Posted on Jun 2nd, 2009 by Caryn : Author, Coach, Karma Artist Caryn
Are extraordinary events products of the underworld?

Over the weekend, Lucky, a lovely gray and black striped cat, plummeted twenty six-that is 26-stories from an open window and lived! Window washers took pictures of the event.

The cat’s owner appeared on ABC News’ Good Morning America program to tell the story. During the interview, show host Bill Weir said, “I still suspect that he’s a product of the underworld.”

Vesak or Visakha: Buddha’s birthday and the full moon

Posted on May 9th, 2009 by Caryn : Author, Coach, Karma Artist Caryn
As the full, orange-colored moon rose above the trees last night I
was overwhelmed with its beauty and a sense of wonder. I wondered how
may other eyes were watching it with me at that moment.
Celebrate Compassion during Vesak

The full moon in May also signifies a time of celebration for many
Buddhists around the world since Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Prince
Siddhartha Gautama during that time. As the story goes, she was on to
her parent’s home for the blessed event and paused to bathe in a
beautiful garden in Lumbini. This region was once considered northern
India but is now in Nepal.

During her visit to the garden, ... read the article at Denver Karma Examiner

Is Valentine's Day Just for Lover's?

Posted on Feb 4th, 2009 by Caryn : Author, Coach, Karma Artist Caryn
Infinite-affinity-caryn-colgan

While Valentine's Day has certainly been touted as a commercial and romantic success for couples, I would like to propose something. It doesn't have to be about lovers only.

Use February 14th as a reminder to express love to as many people as possible. Here are some ways to do that:

Smile at everyone with whom you make eye contact.
Don't automatically say, "how are you?" but rather think of an original greeting.
Hold the door open for a stranger.
Look waiters/waitresses in the eye and ask his/her name.
Call your parents if you are lucky enough to still have them on the physical plane.
Send your friends an email and tell them (this can be brief) how much they mean to you.

What other ways can you raise the loving vibration on Valentine's Day?
